Fiesta Activities Round Up (March 14 and 15)

Agro-Industrial Fair

The opening of Agro-Industrial Fair opened March 14, 2009 at the Paniqui Public Auditorium.  Considered as one of the main activities of Town Fiesta 2009 the goal is to promote and showcase locally made products of Paniqueños coming from different barangays. The ceremony officially started at 10 am with Mayor Miguel C. Rivilla and the Sangguniang Bayan Members. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) representatives graced the event as judges for the booth and product presentations. Many of our kababayans came to show their support for their respective barangays. Booth winners were Poblacion Sur (1st Place) for their innovative use of trash, making organic fertilizer for crops.  Balaoang came in (2nd Place) and Nipaco (3rd place). Prizes were P15,000 , P10,000, and P5,000, accordingly.

Folk Dance Festival

At 6PM of the same day came the Folk Dance Festival. There were eight groups who competed for the said festival. Among the winners were the barangays of Nipaco (Cariñosa) (1st Place), Manaois (Mantones Eseda) (2nd Place), and Burgos (Mulinero) (3rd Place). The winners went home with cash and trophies.

Other barangays who came in with their entries for the Folk Dance Festival were the barangays of Ventenilla (Tinikling), Sta. Ines (Cariñosa), Balaoang (Binasuan), Cabayaoasan (Salacot) and Dapdap (Pasigid).

Cooking Festival

At 3:00 PM last March 15, a cooking festival was held at the Paniqui Public Auditorium.  The winners were Mary Rose Gartchalian (Pasta/Noodles), Ruel Gruspe (Mushroom Tempura), Dorcas Abril (Goat Kalderate) and Yolanda Dacuma (Sweet Potato Salad).
