Rivilla signs MOA; free computer training for OSYs

350 out of school youths (OSY) of Paniqui will receive free computer education training courtesy of a joint project between the Aihu Foundation and the Local Government Unit of Paniqui, Tarlac.

Respective chief executives of both organizations signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which formalized the project that is set to start on the 3rd week of January until the 3rd week of February.

The MOA signing was held in front of the 350 hopefuls at the Municipal Gym last December 22, 2008.

The beneficiaries will get free hands-on training on basic computer operations on a trailer truck converted into a makeshift computer laboratory.

Aihu Foundation has been implementing the project since 2005 and has already benefitted more than 14,000 people from all over Luzon.

On its part, LGU Paniqui will shoulder the accomodation fo trainors and electricity.

The beneficiaries were chosen via a screening committee led by the Municipal Social Welfare Office in cooperation with a group of computer instructors from the Aihu Foundation.

On other related developments, John Ranel Morazo of Barangay Coral again led the Far Eastern University Chess Team in the 13th GACC World Inter-Varsity Chess Championship held last November 29 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

His team got the bronze medal.
