| MPDC leads Seminar on Flood Mitigation |
 The Municipal Planning and Development Office led by Engr. Vladimir Santillan recently spearheaded a "Seminar on Flood Mitigation Measures" with consultants from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as resource speakers.The seminar was held at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall at the 3rd floor of the Municipal Town Building. Among those present were Mayor Rivilla, members of the Municipal Disaster and Coordinating Council (MDCC), local government employees and department heads, police and the local fire brigade. Among the topics that were discussed were on "An Overview of the Agno River Flood Control Project", "Agno Flood Forecasting System", "Flood Warning Response and Evacuation", and "Operation and Maintenance of VHF Radio". Earlier, the barangay councils of San Isidro and Salumague were each given with a VHF handheld radio set. Both barangays are flood prone due to proximity to rivers that overflow during the rainy season.
